SCHOLARSHIPS WITHOUT BORDERS

Neha will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall and is majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computers Science.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

It's actually not quite fair. I guess that's the funny thing about life. Some of us are blessed with everything, while others struggle daily. Sure, people say that they're thankful and blessed for what they have, but sometimes I wonder if they really mean it. Do they really understand how blessed they are? I believe that the meaning of life is simple. Live your life to the fullest. And that explains itself.

SCHOLARSHIPS WITHOUT BORDERS HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY

The idea for Scholarships without Borders began towards the end of the 8th grade year. It was the end of middle school, and the beginning of high school. It was during our school's celebratory Awards Night, when I realized what I had to do. The feeling of being awarded for hard work was almost perfect. All of those years, doubting my skills, my talent, had finally paid off. Of course, there were some who weren't as lucky as I. I know they worked their hardest, yet they were not recognized for their hard work. That just didn't seem fair. That's when I realized that they were thousands of kids in the world, not being recognized for their achievements. I know from experience, that without that recognition, that child can slowly start to give up on their dreams, and eventually their future. They believe that they're either not good enough, or that their hardest work isn't that great. That single thought, itself, can cause the self-destruction of a child's future.
